Contact Form 7

Add UK address lookup to your WordPress forms with Contact Form 7. One tag — your API key stays server-side.

Installation

Install the plugin from the WordPress Plugin Directory or upload it manually. Contact Form 7 must already be installed and active.

In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins > Add New and search for Addresso.
Click Install Now, then Activate.
Alternatively, download the plugin and upload the addresso-cf7 folder to wp-content/plugins/.

Configuration

Go to Settings > Addresso in your WordPress admin and enter your API key. You can find it in your Addresso dashboard. Use the Test connection button to verify your key.

Your API key is stored securely in the WordPress database and is never sent to the browser. All lookups are proxied through your server via admin-ajax.php.

Form setup

Add the [addresso] tag to your CF7 form along with standard text fields for each address part. The tag maps each text field to one or more address properties.

When the user finds and selects an address, the address-1, address-2, town, and postcode fields are populated automatically.

Tag syntax

[addresso <name> <field:property|property> ...]
[addresso* <name> <field:property|property> ...]   (required)

nameCF7 field name for the postcode input.

field:propertyMaps a CF7 text field to an address property.

|Joins multiple properties with a space, e.g. address-1:building_number|street produces "12 High Street".

*Makes the postcode field required (CF7 convention).

These are the address properties you can map to CF7 fields. They match the fields returned by the Addresso API.

How it works

The user enters a postcode and clicks Find address.
The browser sends a request to admin-ajax.php (your API key is never exposed).
WordPress calls the Addresso API server-side with wp_remote_get().
A dropdown of matching addresses appears.
When the user selects an address, the mapped CF7 fields are populated automatically.

Styling

The plugin includes minimal CSS. Override the built-in classes to match your theme.
